The turning of the season is marked by the autumnal equinox, although fall comes early here and it often snows in September. The Alberta science curriculum specifies the study of seasons in Grade 1 but the autumn theme can be applied to science unit topics in other grades, such as animals, plants, trees, sky science & more. Videos on Learn 360A search for "autumn" in Learn 360 yielded 119 results: full videos, short videos, video clips, audio, music tracks, images and articles. The search can be narrowed down by media format, as well as by subject area, grade level, other search terms & language. Examples: Learn 360 can be glitchy but with over 100,000 resources, it's worth it. Your safest bet is to download the video ahead of time. Fall Crafts...Around the 'Net...Tom ThomsonAutumn is also a great time to study iconic Canadian artist Tom Thomson. Many of his brilliant paintings celebrate the vibrant Algonquin autumn. The mystery of his untimely death at age 39 could also be tied into the Grade 6 Evidence and Investigation unit.
